Our Story

Entrepreneur Josh Rathour was talking with his 5-year-old daughter about being online, when she asked him, "How do I know who these people are?" Intrigued by the idea of how brands and consumers could learn from each other to improve online experiences, he set out to learn everything he could about online verification and shopping apps before coming up with the idea for UNiDAYS.

UNiDAYS is short for “university days” in the UK. True to our British roots (and Nottingham headquarters), “uni days” refers to the time one spends at college or university to get a degree.

Meet the team

Josh Rathour
CEO & Founder

As Founder and CEO of UNiDAYS, Josh is responsible for our global business strategy and vision. Driven by continuous improvement, innovation and growth; he works closely with all teams to achieve success for many of the world’s biggest fashion, teleco and tech brands. His keen attention to detail and driven leadership have seen the business develop to become the UK’s Digital Business of the Year.

An entrepreneur from a young age, Josh founded UNiDAYS in 2011. He built a strong team to deliver his vision for our multi-channel platform, that has become a favourite for 18-24 year olds worldwide. Prior to the creation of UNiDAYS, Josh graduated in Real Estate Management at Nottingham Trent University.

Jon Hawley
COO & Co-Founder

Jon has an extensive background in brand strategy and design management. Having developed and implemented proven design strategies and processes at all organisational levels, from corporate strategy to daily operations, he has refined both product and service processes.

At UNiDAYS, Jon leads our creative operations & product teams and is focused on integrating design into our organisational strategy. Jon is passionate about developing design-led experiences, with the user placed at the heart of both our design process and business offering.

Andrew Bullock
CTO & Co-Founder

Andrew is the person behind the technical platform that is UNiDAYS. A pragmatic problem-solver, he began his career as a software developer over 15 years ago before co-founding UNiDAYS and becoming Chief Technology Officer in 2012.

Driving technological change and advancement to create the best experiences for UNiDAYS' members and partners is Andrew's principle concern. His skill and leadership of the Engineering Teams has helped build the global, multi-million user platform that UNiDAYS is today.

Alex Gallagher
CMO
As the CMO at UNiDAYS, Alex is responsible for devising and driving both the consumer and trade marketing strategies. Using the latest technologies, in-depth data and insights, Alex oversees social, content, CRM and PR to deliver against ambitious growth and engagement targets, utilizing a range of channels to increase brand awareness and reach among the world’s student population and ensure the optimal mix of brand partners on the network.
Situl Bains
Global General Counsel

Situl qualified as a solicitor in 2007, specialising in Corporate Law. After five years in private practice, Situl joined the UNiDAYS team to develop and establish the legal strategy of the business, building relationships with some of our longest and most established retail partnerships.

At UNiDAYS, Situl leads our Legal Team, providing expert advice on both internal and external operational matters. In her role as Global General Counsel, Situl supports the incorporation and daily operations of UNiDAYS Group companies, regularly advising on global strategy.

Courtney Lynch
Chief People Officer

Courtney is passionate about people. She brings a diverse set of experiences to the UNiDAYS team. Her notable achievements include serving as a U.S. Marine Corps officer, managing a top-notch sales team for Rational Software, earning her law degree at William & Mary, and creating Lead Star - a premier leadership development consulting firm. She's also the N.Y Times bestselling author of SPARK and Leading from the Front.

At UNiDAYS, Courtney leads the People Team and works to ensure that we are doing all we can to be one of the best places in the world to work.

Scott Samios
GM US & Canada

Scott has been in the marketing technology industry for 15 years, specialising in leading go-to-market teams through critical expansion stages at innovative companies such as Offermatica, Omniture, Monetate and Extole.

At UNiDAYS, Scott is responsible for the commercial strategy and operations in the US and Canada. He brings an abundance of experience in initiating new revenue opportunities, opening new channels, building partner relationships and leading world class enterprise sales, account and marketing teams.

Marisa Allen
VP, Partner Innovation
In her role as VP of Partner Innovation at UNiDAYS, Marisa oversees commercial development and execution of key verticals and drives innovative partnerships that help brands win the adoration of Gen Z college students around the globe. 
 
Prior to UNiDAYS, Marisa worked in the retail technology space including various roles at NOMi and Usablenet, and has led programs with some of the biggest brands in world, like Missguided, Apple, Hotels.com and Urban Outfitters.
 
Marisa graduated from Fairfield University with a BS in Finance and lives in New York City with her husband and two children. She’s been known to make a mean guacamole and may or may not be guilty of dressing her family in matching outfits for family portraits.
Alex Cole
VP, North America Marketing
Alex Cole is responsible for driving brand awareness and engagement with Gen Z  college students throughout North America. 

Prior to UNiDAYS, Alex was in marketing strategy at Spotify and  Conde Nast earlier in his career.
